Passenger seriously injured after missing deer

wpid-mshp-logo111.jpgA Florida man was seriously injured in Livingston County Saturday after a run-in with a deer.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Melanie Bryant, 52 of Lunneus, Mo. was driving a 2004 Toyota Pickup eastbound on Highway K about 2 miles east of Chula around 2:40 a.m. Bryant was reported to have swerved in an attempt to miss a deer and the vehicle ran off the right side of the road and hit a tree.  A passenger, James McConnell, 58 of Florida was transported to Hedrick Medical Center with serious injuries.  Bryant was treated at the scene and released for minor injuries.
