ST. LOUIS — (MissouriNet) – The owner of the St louis Rams officially applies to move to Los Angeles.
According to the MissouriNet, the NFL confirmed the Rams applied late Monday to move to L.A. for the 2016 season.
The formality comes two years after Rams owner Stan Kroenke bought land in Los Angeles County and his announcement last year that he plans to build a new, privately funded 1.9-billion dollar stadium there.
St. Louis’ proposed 1.1-billion stadium project is an effort to keep the Rams here and would use 400-million in state and city money.
NFL owner committees will review the applications later this week.
