A Doniphan County resident is running for the Kansas legislature.
W. Brett Neibling announced his candidacy Friday for the 63rd District of the Kansas House of Representatives.
“I’m running for the Kansas House of Representatives to provide commonsense solutions to our state’s issues,” Neibling said. “It will be a difficult fight, but with your help we can restore Kansas values to our state government and put Kansas back on track.”
Neibling said Kansas needs do something about Governor Sam Brownback’s political policies.
“Brownback and his allies in the Legislature have bankrupted the state, cut funds for schools, robbed the state’s highway fund, crippled the economy and are responsible for the single largest tax increase in the state’s history,” he said. “Kansas can do better.”
As State Representative for the 63rd District, Neibling said he wants to focus on several key issues: education, the economy and healthcare.
Neibling is a lifelong resident of Doniphan County. He said growing up on a farm outside of Highland, he learned the value of hard work and determination from his parents. Neibling earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees in history from Kansas State University.
