St. Joseph, Mo. —The Center for Multicultural Education at Missouri Western State University invites the public to several events planned for Black History Month in February.

Blood Drive, Feb. 9

Charles Drew was an African-American surgeon who pioneered methods of storing blood plasma for transfusions and organized the first large-scale blood bank in the U.S. Sponsored by the American Red Cross and the Center for Multicultural Education.
Rudy Currence in Concert, Feb. 10, 2016
7 p.m., Kemper Recital Hall, Spratt 101
Currence is an African-American musician and singer who plays the piano, keyboard, trumpet and guitar. He won a Grammy and Dove Award for his production on Lecrae’s album “Gravity.” Sponsored by the Center for Student Involvement.
