A Lathrop man received moderate injuries Friday morning after he hit a deer.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Caleb Mitchell, 23 was driving a 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse around 5:50 a.m. while traveling westbound on 240th St. about 6 miles east of Lathrop.  That’s when his vehicle hit a deer in the roadway and went off the north side of the road and hit a ditch.  Mitchell was taken by private vehicle to Liberty Hospital.
