Four people have thrown their names in the running for the position as Buchanan County Sheriff.

By Tuesday Ed Sexton, Pat Grove and Bill Puett had each submitted their name as a Republican candidate for the position.

Former law officer and court marshal Ron Fisher filed for the Democratic nomination.

Candidates have until March 29th to file as candidates.

The new Buchanan County Sheriff will replace Mike Strong, who plans to retire. The primary election will be Aug. 2. The general election will be Nov. 8
