William “Mike” King
1953-2016

King, William. obitphotoWilliam “Mike” King, 63, St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Monday, March 7, 2016 at his home.
He was born January 10, 1953 in St. Joseph, Missouri.
He was a graduate of Central High School Class of 1971.
Mike was a firefighter for the St. Joseph Fire Department from 1976 until he retired as a captain in 1997.
He enjoyed aviation, motorcycles and anything mechanical. He was known to be able to fix anything, from cars to airplanes. He owned two airplanes in his life. Mike had a lifelong interest in firearms and had a quick wit, loved pets and the outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his father, Laurence Earl King; and grandparents.
Survivors include mother, Elverta (Guyot) King; brothers, Robert Earl King (Annette) and Clifford Laurence King (Donna); nieces and nephews, Tricia, Andrew (Andy), Jessica (Colby) and Mitchell (Meryl); great niece and nephew, Ryleigh and Grayden; and numerous cousins.
Farewell Services 3:00 P.M. Saturday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Inurnment Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date. The family will gather with friends 1:30 to 2:30 P.M. Dianne Long
1943-2016

Long, Dianne obit photo (1)Dianne Long, 72, St. Joseph, Missouri joined her Heavenly Father on Monday, March 7, 2016.
She was a longtime caregiver and loving mother.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Jesse LaRuth Spears, Avis Stufflebean, Edward Butterfield, MaryLou Burton and James Butterfield; and granddaughter, Andrea (Boatwright) Hiner.
Survivors include sister, Shirley Berry, Seaside, Oregon; daughters, Sandra Sue Crabill (Mark Kellison) and Candie Gail Danner; son, Randy Boatwright (Angela), St. Joseph; granddaughters, Melissa, Michelle, Ashley and Marissa; grandson, Mason; and great-granddaughters, Keely, Kylee and Olivia.

Carole Jean Hass
1938-2016

Carole Jean Hass, 78, Kansas City, Missouri passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2016.
She was born January 30, 1938 in St. Joseph, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Florence (Byous) Huber; and son, Timothy Hass.
Survivors include daughter, Brenda Dickerson (Bill), Kansas City, Missouri; sons, Gregory Hass (Tammie), Kansas City, Missouri and Michael Hass (Valerie), Trimble, Missouri; brother, James Huber (Joan); sister, Lisa Pearce; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two nieces; and one nephew.
Farewell Services 11:00 A.M. Saturday, First Christian Church, Platte City, Missouri. Inurnment 2:30 P.M. Saturday, Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Joseph, Missouri. Mary Louise Weishaar (Schmidt)
1942-2016

Mary Louise Weishaar (Schmidt) was born Monday, June 29th, 1942 and passed away Tuesday, March 8th, 2016 in Nortonville, KS. Visitation will be held Friday, March 11th, 2016, 6:30pm – 8:00pm at O’Trimble Funeral Home. A parish rosary will be recited at 6:30 pm, Friday, at the O’Trimble Funeral Home in Nortonville, (329 Main St.) with visitation to follow until 8:00 pm. Services will be held Saturday, March 12th, 2016, 10:30am, Officiating Fr. Lazar Carasala, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church- Nortonville KS. Interment at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.

Kimberlyn K. “Kim” Kerr
1956-2016

Hiawatha, KS Kimberlyn K. Kerr, age 59, of Hiawatha, KS, went to her Lord, March 9, 2016, at the Hiawatha Community Hospital.
She was born December 8, 1956, in Topeka, KS, to Dale and Betty (Thompson) Goetsch.
Kim is survived by her husband Dennis Laverentz of the home; daughter Holly (Jeff) Lang of Pawnee City, NE; son Kyle Laverentz of the home; step-son Brent Laverentz of Chandler, TX; grandchildren: McKenzie Goetsch, Garrett and Carson Duryea, all of Pawnee City, NE, Aaron and Hunter Laverentz, also of Chandler, TX. All of her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Also surviving are a sister Diana (Nathan) Coffman of Horton, KS; a brother Wilbur Dale (Elaine) Goetsch of Petaluma, CA. Kim also leaves behind an aunt in Topeka; and uncle in Layfayette, IN; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and a multitude of friends.
Kim was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, and an infant sister Tonya.
It was Kim’s wish to be cremated. A gathering celebrating Kim’s life is planned for 1-4 Friday afternoon, March 18, 2016, at the Fisher Community Center on East Iowa Street in Hiawatha.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Lung Association, which may be sent in care of Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, 124 S 7th St., Hiawatha 66434.
