Buchanan County Clerk Mary Baack-Garvey still anticipates at 40% turnout for Tuesday’s Presidential Preference Primary.
As of 3 p.m. Tuesday around 22% of registered voters in Buchanan County had cast a ballot. At 4 p.m. Baack-Garvey said she still thinks voter turnout will hit the 40% range.
“These last hours are when people leave work and it will be busy,” Baack-Garvey said.
Missouri is one of five states choosing a Republican or Democratic candidate they want to vie for the White House in the November election. The other contests Tuesday are in Illinois, Ohio, North Carolina and Florida.
