MWSU women’s golf finishes third; Ong ties for first place

riggertMissouriWesternST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Missouri Western Women’s Golf finished its home tournament Tuesday in third place with a team score of 635. Shi Qing Ong finished tied for first place individually, firing a 148 in her two rounds of golf.

Missouri Western was led by Ong while Madison Romjue scored a 159 and tied for 11th in the tournament. Callie Wilson also had two solid rounds finishing with a 163 and tied for 18th individually. Tiffanie Yabut scored a 165 and Celine Lim finished the tournament at 167.

The Griffons finished behind Lindenwood University, reporting a team score of 614 for second place and William Woods University was the overall winner with a 614. Missouri Western finished five strokes ahead of Iowa Western CC and 24 strokes ahead of Central Missouri.

MWSU will have a week off before returning to action as they will head to Kearney, Nebraska on March 24 to compete at Awarii Dunes.
