A man and a woman were taken to the hospital Tuesday evening with serious stab wounds after a disturbance near Downtown St. Joseph.

The St. Joseph Police Department responded to 7th and Patee near the Imperial Gas Station shortly before 7 p.m. in reference to a stabbing investigation.

Sgt. Roy Hoskins says a 34-year-old man was found with cuts to his abdomen and hands and a 31-year-old women was found with a stab wound to her abdomen. Both were taken by ambulance to Mosaic Life Care with serious injuries.

Hoskins said a 35-year-old man was taken into police custody.

The investigation continues.
