St Joseph Fire Department crews are on the scene of a corn field that caught fire over the noon hour.

They are battling several areas of fire in the field near Frederick and Riverside Road.  Winds were gusting 25-35 mph.

Some of those areas were not accessible by the larger trucks in the department fleet.  A brush truck arrived to help put out the fires shortly after 12:45 p.m. Tuesday.
