Two people charged with multiple felonies including attempted murder after a high-speed chase last month had their first appearances before Andrew County Associate Circuit Judge Michael Ordnung Tuesday. Tyler Despain and Jessica Harbord are each charged with multiple felonies including attempted murder and assault of a law enforcement officer.

The pair allegedly fled from a traffic stop along a county road in Andrew County March 26. The pursuit crossed into Holt County and then back into Andrew County, where authorities say the vehicle crossed into the wrong lane of traffic on I-29. Deputies say four shots were fired at the pursuing vehicles during the chase.

Mr Despain faces 14 felony and misdemeanor counts, and is charged as a persistent offender. He’s being held without bail pending a case review April 26. Ms Harbord is charged with nine felony and misdemeanor counts. She’s being held under $50,000 bail awaiting a case review May 3.
