Mary Jane Corkins
1943-2016

maryMary Jane Corkins, 73, Atchison, Kansas died Monday, April 11, 2016 at the Apostolic Christian Home in Sabetha, Kansas.
Graveside services will be Thursday, April 14, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A. M. at the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home. Memorial contributions are suggested to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Mary was born January 15, 1943 in Atchison, Kansas the daughter of William and Betty June Mulvaney Turner. She attended Atchison Public Elementary Schools and Mt. Saint Scholastica Academy.
Mary Jane was a homemaker to her husband and children. She enjoyed playing bingo, reading, socializing with friends and most of all spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include two son, Allen Merritt, Atchison, KS, John Corkins, Lansing, KS, two daughters, Laura (Jerry) Koopman, Falls City, NE, Natalie Whimley, Lansing, KS, six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and a sister, Leigh Fortier, Los Angeles, CA. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry Mercer and Randy Mercer.

William “Bill” R. Bottiger
1929-2016

billWathena, Kansas – William R. “Bill” Bottiger, 87, of Wathena, Kansas passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at the Wathena Nursing & Rehab Center.
Bill was born April 7, 1929 in Denton, Kansas to Charles & Mary (Molinare) Bottiger.
He graduated Denton High School, was a member of the Army National Guards & Wathena Masonic Lodge. Bill retired from Wire Rope for 30 years.
Bill married Marjorie Shuster on June 23, 1978. She survives of the home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Kenneth & a sister, Lila Mae Keebler.
Additional survivors are daughters, Connie Guido (Vick) of Las Vegas, Nevada; Linda Anderson (Alan) of San Antonio, Texas; Brenda Hill of New Braunfels, Texas;
Georgina Marie Ruedin (Jim) of Lake St. Louis, Missouri; Sons, Jon Lance Higdon (Bernadette) of Wathena, Kansas; Perry Max Higdon (Gale) of Wathena, Kansas;
16 Grandchildren & 4 great-grandchildren; Sister, Katherine Hopper (Jim) of Elwood, Kansas; Nieces & nephews.
Memorial Service taking place at 10:30 A.M. Friday, April 15, 2016 at the Harman-Rohde Funeral Home in Wathena, Kansas. Visitation will be held 5-7 Thursday evening at the funeral home. Inurnment at a later date. Memorials at Wathena Healthcare Activity Fund or the Wathena EMS.

Raymond Ford
1938-2016

Ford, Raymond obit photoRaymond Ford, 77, Parkville, Missouri passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at his residence.
He was born August 3, 1938 to Nathan and Hattie (Colburn) Ford.
Raymond married Velma Loretta Shipley February 6, 1964.
He proudly served in the US Army and worked as a welding inspector at Midwest Conveyor, retiring in 1999 after twenty-five years.
He enjoyed welding and also liked to fish in his spare time. Raymond was a member of the American Welding Society, Deer Park Methodist Church in St. Joseph and The Northland Cathedral in Kansas City.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Gary Ford.
Survivors include wife of fifty-two years, Loretta; children, Denise Brown (Dick), Pamela Spiek (Dave), Kelly Bowen (Dave), Michelle Van Dyke (Don), as well as Curtis, Darlene, and Rickey; brothers, Frankie Ford (Kelli) and George Ford (Terri); sister, Sara Seiter (Louie); and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Farewell Services 1:00 P.M. Friday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will gather with friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory, where friends may call after 5:00 P.M. Thursday. Neil J. Smith
1959-2016

neilNeil J. Smith, 56, of Saint Joseph, Missouri passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2016 in Saint Joseph. He was born December 4, 1959 in Yerington, Nevada son of Mary & Norman Smith. He worked as a concrete finisher and was the monitor for the cold weather shelter. He recently joined as a part-time staff member with the Community Mission Corporation. He loved to fish, hunt, and go camping, and he was a member of the ROC Fellowship Church. Neil was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include two sons, Anthony (Cynthia) Smith of Kansas City, MO, and Zachary Smith of St. Joseph, MO, two daughters, Serina Smith and Corrine Smith of St. Joseph, MO, 11 grandchildren, a brother, Norman (Kim) Smith of Cameron, MO, and a sister, Leila (Mike) Tebow of St. Joseph, MO. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Tuesday April 19, 2016 with a Memorial Service starting at 7:00 pm at the ROC Fellowship Church. He will be cremated under the care and direction of the Rupp Funeral Home.
