Ruthanna Libel Crawford
1925-2016

ruthSEVERANCE,KS – Ruthanna Libel Crawford, age 90, Severance, Kansas died Friday, April 15, 2016, at the Living Community of St. Joseph.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, Bendena, Kansas, with Father Francis Bakyor as Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Benedict’s Cemetery, Bendena. A parish Rosary will be recited at 6:30 PM on Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at St. Benedict’s Church with visitation to follow until 8 PM. Friends may call after 9 A.M. Tuesday. Harman Rohde Funeral Home of Troy is handling the arrangements. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Benedict’s Church, Bendena, and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
Ruthanna was born on August 19, 1925, on the family farm northwest of Bendena, the daughter of Martin A. and Hilda (Keimig) Boersting. She grew up near Bendena attending schools there prior to graduating from Bendena High School. She attended Mount St. Scholastica College, Atchison, Kansas and taught music in the grade schools of Bendena and Troy, Kansas. After her marriage, she taught private piano lessons in her home for twenty five years.
Ruthanna was a long time member of St. Vincent’s Catholic Church, Severance, until its closing and was a former organist and president of its Altar Society. She became a member of St. Benedict’s Church, Bendena, and of the Women’s Council of the church. Ruthanna was a former member of the Parish Council there serving as secretary. She enjoyed travelling, visiting most of the states including Alaska and Hawaii, music and reading.
She and Ferdie L. Libel, of Severance, were married on September 3, 1947, at St. Benedict’s Church, Bendena. He died on August 23, 1986. She later married Arden D. Crawford, of Odessa, MO, on April 29, 1989 at St. Benedict’s Church, continuing to live on the Libel family farm for 69 years. He preceded her in death on January 31, 2002.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn A. (Libel) and William R. Young, Bendena, and several nieces and nephews. A brother, Martin W. Boersting, preceded her in death, as well as her parents and a step-daughter, Linda (Crawford) Cheek.

Harlan Fleck

James “Jimbo” Howard Thomas Young IV
1957-2016

jamesJames “Jimbo” Howard Thomas Young IV 58, of Saint Joseph, Missouri, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Mosaic Life Care Hospital. He was born July 28, 1957 in St. Joseph, MO. He worked for Deffenbaugh Disposal, Frazer Tree Service, and at Quality Roofing with his sons. He loved to fish, deer hunt, going to the races every weekend, watching WWE on Monday nights, and the movie Billy Jack. He was a Baptist. Jimbo was preceded in death by father, James Howard Thomas Young , III, mother, Letha Mansfield, two sisters, Mary Jane Fryman, and Laquita Young. Survivors include, son, Dusty (Becky) Young of Saint Joseph, MO, daughter, Deann Livick of Grady, Ark, son, James Earl (Chris Zahner) Young of Saint Joseph, MO, 9, grandchildren, a sister, Coleen Beers, uncles, Charlie (Kim) Frazer and David (Carol) Frazer, caregiver and dearest friend, Roxanne Harmon, friend, Jessi Fisk, brother in law, Larry Fryman, special brother in law, Alvie Christofferson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am, on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at Rupp Funeral Home, with Rev. James Kerns officiating, The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday at the Rupp Funeral Home. The Interment will be at the Ashland Cemetery. Lester A. Buck
1935-2016

Buck, Lester. obitphotoLester A. Buck, 81, St. Joseph, Missouri died Saturday, April 16, 2016 at the Cameron Veterans Home in Cameron, Missouri.
Lester graduated from Rockport High School Class of 1953, then attended the University of Missouri-Columbia for one year and graduated from Northwest Missouri State University with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Education.
He proudly served in the United State Army from 1955-1957 and was a school teacher for 30 years, 24 years at Humboldt in St. Joseph until retiring in 1991.
Lester was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the American Legion. He volunteered for 25 years at the Jesse James and Patee House Museums and was especially known at the Jesse James Museum.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister; and a brother.
Survivors include four sisters, Wilma Farley, Country Club, Missouri, Edline McGinnis, Omaha, Nebraska, Lillie Williams and Arlette Duty of St. Joseph, Missouri; niece, Sharri Duty; nephews, Kenny and Kevin Duty; and other numerous nieces and nephews.
Farewell Services 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will gather with friends 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Harlan Fleck, 76, St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Friday, April 15, 2016 at Mosaic Life Care.
He was born February 10, 1940.

Margie M. Miller, 91, Richmond, Missouri passed away Saturday, April 16, 2016.
She was born March 16, 1925 in Rose, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son; brother; and sister.
Survivors include children, Darlene McDermid (Bruce), David Miller (Verna) and Bruce Miller (Jaim); 13 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
