A trucker from Platte City was involved in a crash in southeastern Kansas Monday that claimed the life of another driver.

The Kansas Highway Patrol crash report says Derik Blakely was driving along U.S. Highway 169 near Cherryvale, Kansas shortly after 3:30 p.m. when another motorist ran a stop sign and pulled into the path of Mr Blakely’s semi.

The collision claimed the life of 62-year-old Earl Wooldridge of Cherryvale.  Mr. Wooldridge was taken to a hospital in Coffeyville where he died.

Mr. Blakely was not hurt.
