GMO symposium tonight

GMO tomatoA symposium on genetically modified organisms or GMOs tonight at the East Hills Library. The event is sponsored by the Tri-Beta Biological Society at Missouri Western State University.

“Manipulated: The Science and Politics of Genetically Modified Organisms” will feature presentation from Missouri Western faculty and questions-and-answers with the audience.

Presenters include Dr. Taylor Quedensley, assistant professor of biology; Dr. Hillary Mellema, instructor of marketing; and Dr. James Okapal, associate professor of philosophy and chair of the Department of Philosophy and Religion.

The event is scheduled at 6 p.m. in the East Hills Library Theater Room, 502 N. Woodbine Avenue. The event is free and open to the public.
