Victoria L. “Vicki” Hauschild (Shaver) was born Monday, August 25th, 1947. She passed away on Monday, April 25th, 2016. Services will be held Saturday, April 30th, 2016, 2:00pm at St. John’s Lutheran Church Lancaster. Officiating Sister Mary Arie.

Mary Agnes Obermier
1926-2016

unnamed (7)Mary Agnes Obermier 89, of Saint Joseph, MO passed away Monday, April 25, 2016 at a health care center in Saint Joseph, MO. She was born July 31, 1926 in Weston, MO, daughter of Grace and Rudolph Sonnenmoser. She graduated from Mt. St. Scolastica High School 1944 where she was the captain of the basketball team, she then graduated from Mt. St. Scholastic College 1948. She married Edwin Obermier on June 7, 1948 in Atchison, KS, he preceded her in death 1997. Mary worked for the State of Kansas as a Social worker, in Troy, and Atchison Kansas, retiring when she was 71 1/2 years old. She loved to vegetable garden, buying plants and clothing, taking care of the poor and giving to missions, but most of all she enjoyed being around her family, and spending time with her grandchildren. Prayer was very important in her life, an she loved to pray, saying many rosary’s thoughout the day for people. She was a member the Legion of Mary, St. James Altar Society, and Saint James Catholic Church. Mary was preceded in death by husband, Edwin B.Obermier, her parents, eight brothers, John, Otto, Rudolph, Lewis, Joseph, David, Karl and Frances Sonnenmoser. Survivors include her 14 children: Mary Ludeke, Teresa (Kenny) Nolan, of St. Joseph, Janice (David) Pellersels of Atchison, KS, Edwin (Linda) Obermier, Jeanette (Troy) Watson, Margaret (Thomas) Filley, John Obermier, all of St. Joseph, Charles (Mary Kay) Obermier of Bellevue, NE, Greg (Shelly) Obermier of Faucett, MO, David (Janie) Obermier of St. Joseph, MO, Arthur (Nikkie) Obermier of Columbia, MO, Cheryl Wilson, Robert (Tracy) Obermier, and Eric (Donna) Obermier of St. Joseph, MO, two sisters, Anna Lawlor of Columbia, IL, and Victoria Morgan of Atchison, KS, 36 grandchildren, numerous great and great great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 30, 2016, at 1:00 pm at the St. James Catholic Church, Father Evan Harkins Celebrant. The Rosary will be recited at 5:30 pm, Friday at the Rupp Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday at the Rupp Funeral Home. Rosanna Marie Harman
1957-2016

unnamed (8)Rosanna Marie Harman 59, of Saint Joseph, Missouri, passed away Monday, April 25, 2016 at her home. She was born January 4, 1957 in St. Joseph. She attended Lafayette high school, and enjoyed her 2 cats, Beavis and Butthead, and her dog Grizzly, she also enjoyed collecting porcelain dolls, Indian artifacts, spending time with her family and she loved Elvis. Rosanna was preceded in death by grandmother who raised her, Gertrude Reynolds, brother, and a Kenneth Barnett. Survivors include, husband, John Harman, Sr., son, John Harman, Jr., daughter, Peggy Hawkins, father, Robert John Berry, three brothers, Michael, Robert and Jimmy Berry, five sisters: Jennifer Kernes, Beverly Loucks, Diana Hensley, Penny Randall, and Sarah Berry, 5 grandchildren: Alyssa, John III, Brianna, Tyler, and Bryson Harman.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Saturday at the Rupp Funeral Home with a funeral service to be conducted at 10:00 am, on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Rupp Funeral Home. He was born January 16, 2016 in St. Joseph, Missouri.
You were the happiest baby we have ever seen and always put a smile on everyone’s face. We are blessed to have had you in our lives and will cherish every moment we had together. You will be forever missed but not forgotten.
He was preceded in death by his uncle, Chad Alexander Adkins.
Survivors include mother, Caitlin Cress; father, Raymond Myers; sister, Kaydence Klamert; maternal grandparents, Duane Cress (Peggy Girling) and Lisa Hyatt; paternal grandparents, Michelle Galvan and Mike Myers, Jr.; and numerous extended family.

Roger Douglas Meyer
1943-2016

Meyer, Roger obit photoRoger Douglas Meyer, of Rushville, Missouri passed away April 25, 2016 at his home in Rushville.
Roger was born February 1, 1943 in Atchison, Kansas, the son of Elmer Theodore Meyer and Alzada Abie (Bixler) Meyer. He graduated from Atchison High School in 1961. In 1965, he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and East Asian Studies from University of Kansas and a Masters in History in 1967. During the summer of 1967, he received a National Defence Foreign Language Grant for Chinese Language study, He attended the University of Illinois for his Ph.D. work in history. He was the recipient of several National Defence Foreign Language Fellowships along with the Fulbright Fellowship for research in Taiwan.
During his time in Taiwan, he taught at the National Cheng-chi University, Central Police College and the Ministry of Finance Training Institute. He was an English Adviser to the Minister of Finance and Minister of Economic Affairs. He finished his career with the China External Trade Development Council as Editor of Taiwan Products and Trade Opportunities magazines as well as being the writer of the Doing Business With Taiwan, an annual book-length publication.
In 1987, Roger received grant support from the Council for Cultural Planning and Development of the Executive Yuan of the Republic of China (Taiwan) and the Pacific Cultural Foundation and sponsorship of the Europe Asie Association Culturelle for exhibition of commercial folk art design collection at the Galerie ART ET COMMUNICATION, Paris, France. He married Liang Yi Liu (Elsa) on June 7, 1987 in Taipei, Taiwan. She survives of the home. He is also survived by his sister, Janet McDermott, and nephew Jake.
After 27 years living in Taipei, he retired in 2004. He and Elsa returned to live a peaceful country life in Rushville, Missouri.
