Mary “Lynne” Lent, 72, Oak Ridge, North Carolina, formerly of St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2016.
She was born February 4, 1944 in St. Joseph, Missouri.
Lynne married Larry Glen Lent on October 23, 1962.
She was a Payroll Supervisor at Affiliated Foods for 30 years.
She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority.
She was a member of Oak Ridge United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jiles Cramer and daughter, Vickie Lynne Lent.
Survivors include Husband Larry; son Michael Lent; daughter Michelle (Eric) Brown; mother Marjorie (Timberlake) Cramer; 2 sisters Marsha Brennan and Marliss (Joe) Miller; 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will gather with friends 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday April 28, Forbis & Dick Funeral Home, Stokesdale, North Carolina. A gathering will also take place 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. Roberta Ann “Sissy” Horsman 67, of Saint Joseph, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2016 in a Gower, MO health care center. She was born October 21, 1948 in St. Joseph, MO, daughter of Myrtle and Archie Boyer. She graduated from DeKalb High-School and Joplin Bible College. She was a secretary and Logg Coordinator at Markt Trunk Lines 9 years, and she tended bar for many years at several local establishments. She loved to play bingo and play pool, and was a member of the Faith United Baptist Church. Sissy was preceded in death by her parents, 2 step mothers: Jeanne and Ruth Boyer, a brother, Alva Lee Boyer, and a sister, Margaret Ashlock. Survivors include husband, Harry Horsman of Clarksdale, MO, two daughters, Gwen (Donald) Merritt of St. Joseph, MO, and Jamie (Barry) Adams of Cameron, MO, two brothers, Robert (Fannie) Boyer of St. Joseph, MO, Pat (Rita) Boyer of Joplin, MO, four sisters, Bonnie (Tom) Downing of Dekalb, MO, Pam Ranney (Larry Johnson) Mildred Chenowith of St. Joseph, MO, and Lona (Larry) Wallace of Joplin, MO. sister-in-law, Joyce Boyer of St. Joseph, MO, grandchildren, Chris (Jessica) Faulkner, Ty, Haley, and Reese Dilley, Amanda, Kimberly, and Amber Faulkner, and Jeremy Merritt, 9 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am, on Monday, May 2, 2016 at Rupp Funeral Home, with Rev. Harold I. “Mac” McKibben
1918-2016
Harold I. “Mac” McKibben, 97, Atchison, Kansas died at his home Thursday, April 28, 2016.
Funeral services will be Monday, May 2, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with Abbot Barnabas Senecal, OSB officiating. Interment will follow in Sumner Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Monday, May 2nd from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to Atchison Home Health or St. Benedict Parish and may be left in care of the funeral home.
Mac was born July 29, 1918 in Atchison, Kansas the son of Harlan Henry and Agnes Mary Behen McKibben. He attended Sacred Heart Elementary School, Maur Hill Prep School and graduated in 1938 from Atchison High School.
He and the former Martha E. “Pat” Ball were united in marriage on December 27, 1947 in Atchison, Kansas. Mrs. McKibben preceded him in death on January 22, 1999.
Mac served in the United States Army Air Force from 1942 until his honorable discharge as a sergeant in 1945. He was stationed in England and received two bronze stars.
Mac as a young man began working for Missouri Pacific Railroad as a switchman for two years. He then co-owned the Standard Oil Gas Station in Atchison, later became employed with Bunch Motor Company as a mechanic. He then became a liquor salesman for different liquor companies as a representative in the local area until 1969. He then worked as a car salesman for Phalen Motors in Atchison and then went to work for Northeast Kansas Vocational Technical School as a partsman until his retirement in 1994.
He was a member of St. Benedict Parish participating at Sacred Heart Church all of his life. He was also a life member of Fleming-Jackson-Seever Post # 6 of the American Legion and a life member of V.F.W. Post #1175 in Atchison.
Survivors include a son, John H. (Joyce) McKibben, Atchison, KS; a daughter, Debra S. (Clyde) Gerber, Atchison, KS; four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, James McKibben; Charles McKibben and Francis McKibben.
Jeannetta R. Danford
1932-2016
Jeannetta R. Danford, 84, St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Mosaic Life Care.
She was born March 7, 1932 in St. Joseph, Missouri.
Jeannetta graduated from Central High School Class of 1949, attended St. Joseph Junior College and graduated from Missouri Western State College with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Education.
She married Thaddus Danford, Jr. on August 31, 1952.
Mrs. Danford taught for 20 years with the Savannah R III School District and John Glenn Elementary until retiring in ____.
She enjoyed ___.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thaddus; parents, Ralph Sawyer (Juanita) Adams; and son, Phillip Danford.
Survivors include son, Dan Danford (Chris); daughter, Sally Danford; both of St. Joseph, Missouri; three grandchildren, Jennifer Danford, Springfield, Missouri, Jessica Lyonford (Eric), Houston, Texas and Sarah Henderon (Zach), North Kansas City, Missouri; three great-grandchildren, Jude and Maxwell Henderson and Torc Lyonford; sister, Illah Snodderly (Bryce), St. Joseph, Missiouri; two brothers, Randall Sawyer (Joyce), Mexico, Missouri and Bill Sawyer, Rio Vista, California; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and extended family.
