The man accused of shooting and killing a Kansas City, Kan. detective earlier this week also faces charges in Leavenworth County. County Attorney Todd Thompson filed charges of aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary and criminal possession of a firearm against Curtis Ayers for incidents alleged in Leavenworth County on May 9.
Mr. Ayers faces charges in multiple jurisdictions after an alleged crime spree that day that included the fatal shooting of Det. Brad Lancaster.
Mr Ayers was charged in Wyandotte County with nine counts including capital murder, aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary, aggravated battery, kidnapping, and criminal possession of a firearm.
In Jackson County, Missouri, Ayers was charged with allegedly shooting a woman during an attempted carjacking in Kansas City. He is charged in Jackson County with first-degree assault, two counts of unlawful use of a weapon, resisting arrest and three counts of armed criminal action.
