Mustangs’ Weekly to air on ESPN 1550 starting Thursday

riggertMustangsST. JOSEPH, Mo. — As the St. Joseph Mustangs embark on their eighth season of baseball at Phil Welch Stadium, the team is reaching out to its fanbase in a new way this summer.

The Mustangs are teaming with Dave Riggert and ESPN 1550 for a new radio show: Mustangs Weekly presented by Precision Tune Auto Care.

The show will be held at noon each Thursday throughout the season at Uncle D’s Sports Bar & Grill, starting with a special preseason edition on May 26 from noon to 1pm. Rally, the team’s mascot, will be in attendance, and Mustangs’ starting pitcher Dixon Marble will also be signing autographs.

Each fan that attends the first show of the season on May 26 will receive two free general admission tickets good for any game, and Uncle D’s will feature a lunch special during the show.

“We thought this was a great chance to connect with our fanbase, and give them the opportunity to interact with our players, coaches and staff up close in an environment away from the stadium,” general manager Ky Turner said. “Plus, we have some great giveaways and Mustangs’ gear for our fans, so it’ll be a lot of fun each week.”

Mustangs Weekly will feature insight from Turner, the team’s manager Matt Johnson, Mustangs’ owner Dan Gerson, and various players throughout the season.

The show will also be streamed on UClickTV.com each week.
