The K-JO 105.5 Radio-A-Thon for Camp Quality Friday raised $12,287 dollars. That compares to about $10,000 raised last year.
The week-long summer camp for kids with cancer operates solely on community donations. Camp Quality offers a summer camp experience and yearly support for the kids and their families.
KKJO Morning Personality Gregg Lynn hosted the event live on the air from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. from the St. Joseph Hy-Vee as he has each year since it started. By noon Friday, Gregg had raised just $4,000, so the second half of the day proved to be the better draw.
You can still donate on the station’s Web site at Kjo1055.com.
