St. Joe resident among three hurt in crash involving geese crossing the interstate

MSHP purpleGeese crossing a Platte County Highway caused a crash that sent three people to the hospital.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a Nissan Pathfinder stopped at mile marker 10.6 on I-635 for some geese crossing the road Wednesday afternoon. The SUV was struck from behind by a Buick.

The crash report says Gashinde Elias of Kansas City, Kansas and Say Kaw of St Joseph in the S.U.V., and Marilyn Selk of Lawton, Oklahoma in the Buick, were transported to area hospitals for treatment of what were described as minor injuries.

The two drivers were not hurt. They were identified as Pay Yo of Kansas City, Kansas and John Selk of Lawton, Oklahoma.
