Brake issues are blamed for an accident in Clinton County Friday that sent two people to the hospital with serious injuries.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report says Cody Kent was unable to stop his S.U.V. at a stop sign at Route A and 272nd Street north of Lathrop. The vehicle was hit was hit broadside by a Ford Focus on Route A at 12:42 p.m. Friday.
Both vehicles traveled off the west side of the roadway and came to rest on their wheels.
The 21-year-old Lathrop man suffered serious injuries and was transported to Liberty Hospital. The driver of the other vehicle, Kimberly Guenther, was also seriously hurt and was transported to Liberty Hospital.
There were two passengers in Mr. Kent’s vehicle. Nathaniel Colboch, 24, of Lawson, Missouri, was treated at the scene for what were described as minor injuries. Crisjen McIlvain, 26, of Liberty, was not injured.
