A St. Joseph man has been charged after allegedly running from law enforcement authorities on foot Tuesday afternoon.

Antoinne Jones, 23 was charged Wednesday in Buchanan County with a felony for resisting arrest.

According to court documents, Tuesday around 3 p.m. the Buchanan County Sheriff’s Department responded to southbound I-29 at the 38.6 mile marker in reference to a domestic disturbance.  Sgt. Scott Babcock said Jones knowingly caused physical injury to his girlfriend by choking her and shifting the vehicle she was driving into park while it was traveling along I-29.

“Jones fled the scene from officers and deputies on foot,” Sgt. Babcock said. “Jones ran through several yards and open fields.”

As we previously reported, Sgt Babcock and Investigator Chris Brinton took a man into custody Tuesday afternoon after a suspect ran several miles through a field.

Jones is being held on $10,000 bail.  An arraignment is set for Friday.
