Trevor Lengle
1935-2016

Trevor Lengle, 81, Savannah, Missouri passed away Saturday, May 28, 2016 after a short illness.
Born May 19, 1935 in Pine Grove, Pennsylvania. He retired in Special Forces and was a member of the Special Forces Association, VFW in Amazonia, Missouri, the American Legion in Savannah, Missouri and the Rifleman’s Association.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce; son, Trevor; daughter, Toni Kubaska, both of New Kensington, Pennsylvania; adopted daughter, Janice Konradi, Sioux City, Iowa; three step-daughters, Julie McManigal, Cindy Bligh, both of South Sioux City, Nebraska and Kathy Welch, Hubbard, Nebraska; step-son, Donald Bates, Dakota City, Nebraska; several grandchildren; and brothers, Ronald, Schuykillhaven, Pennsylvania, Pete and Scott Lengle, Pine Grove, Pennsylvania.

Linda L. Scheuerman
1940-2016

3736342_fbsLinda L. Scheuerman, 76, of Hiawatha, died peacefully Saturday morning, May 28, 2016, at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka.
Linda was born at Petaluma, California, March 28, 1940, one of three children of Phillip and Marion Swanson Harvey. She grew up in California where she attended schools, later graduating from high school there. Through the years, Linda had lived both in northern and southern California where she was associated with law enforcement.
She married Roy “Al” Scheuerman, over thirty years ago in Alpine, California. Al was from Kansas and they settled here over twenty years ago to make their home where she worked as a jailer for the Brown County Sheriff’s Department, retiring in 2006. Al survives at home.
Other survivors include their children: Jeff Konig (Kim) of Omaha, NE, Brad Konig of Arizona, Katie Belflower (Marcus) of Sabetha; her mother in law Edith Scheuerman of Hiawatha; siblings Judy Porter (Prentis) of California, John Harvey (Maureen) of Georgia; 11 grandchildren with 6 great-grandchildren.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; a niece Tammy Porter, and father in law Roy Scheuerman.
It was her wish to be cremated. The family will gather at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home from 11 until 12 noon Saturday, June 4. It was Linda’s wish for everyone to be invited for a barbeque continue to celebrate her life, at the Kiwanis Shelter House, northwest corner of the Hiawatha City Lake, immediately following the funeral home gathering.
Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude’s Children Hospital which may be sent in care of Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, 124 S 7th St., Hiawatha 66434.

Lucille M. McGuire
1917-2016

3735355_fbsONAGA – Lucille M. McGuire, 98, of Onaga, died Sunday, May 29, 2016 at the Onaga Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born September 12, 1917 on a farm four miles north of Onaga, the daughter of John and Agnes Mueller Brunkow. She graduated from Onaga High School in 1935.
Lucille was a member of the First Congregational Church, UCC in Onaga and was a former organist at the church. She and her husband, Marvin McGuire also played at the former Golden Acres, and other nursing homes in the area. Lucille played the piano and Marvin played the saxophone. They were known as “The Two Notes”.
She worked as a telephone operator in Onaga until the switchboard was automated in 1959. She then moved to Kansas City and worked at KMBC Channel 12 as a switchboard operator until 1979. Lucille moved back to Onaga to care for her mother who was a resident at Golden Acres.
She was married to Bud Parr for fifteen years. They were divorced. She married Marvin McGuire in 1986. He died September 29, 2003. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Francis Brunkow.
Survivors include step-daughters, Jolene Martin and husband John, of Salina, Cynthia McCosh and husband Ron, of Beverly, KS and Kathy Brax and husband Don, of Washington, KS.; a step son, Mark Lund and wife Jayne, of Green, KS.; 15 step- grandchildren, 17 step-great grandchildren, and 1 step-great-great grandchild; a nephew, David Brunkow, Centralia; nieces, Judy DeFonso, of Oskaloosa, Janice Wilson of Greenville, Texas, Nadene McGuire, of Kansas City, MO, Marcia Dodson and husband Bruce, of Lenexa, and Linda Bruner and husband Ed, of Olathe.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 1st at the First Congregational Church. Burial will follow in the Onaga Cemetery. Lucille will lie in state Tuesday at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Onaga. Memorials are suggested to Grace Hospice, Onaga Health and Rehab. or First Congregational Church, and may be sent in care of the funeral home, PO Box 312, Onaga, KS 66521.

Donna Mae Pelzman
1960-2016

unnamed (12)Donna Mae Pelzman 55, of Saint Joseph, Missouri passed away Sunday May 29, 2016. She was born July 6, 1960 in St. Joseph, Missouri daughter of the late Vera & Robert Pelzman, She graduated from Lafayette high school. She enjoyed making award plaques for friends, and playing Bingo. She is survived by a sister Pam. The family will receive friends from 6-7 PM Thursday with a memorial service to follow at 7:00 PM Thursday, June 2, 2016 at the Rupp Funeral Home. She has been cremated under the direction of the Rupp Funeral Home.
