Hillcrest Transitional Housing announces a hot new way to raise money.
They’re holding what they call the “Salsa Summer Standoff,” and they’re looking for contestants. You can enter your salsa in the competition.
They’re looking for teams, businesses, restaurants and individuals to compete.
The Salsa Summer Standoff will be held on August 13th at the Hillcrest Thrift Shoppe at 4826 Frederick Ave. Attendance is expected to be roughly 2,000 people that will be coming to taste salsa, listen to live music, and enjoy the children’s area.
The event will include performances by two of St. Joseph’s most popular bands, Dolewite and Blue Oyster Culture Club.
Officials say they have received responses from many vendors to participate, but so far there have not been a lot of contestants to enter their salsa.
