Four young children hurt in unusual hit and run

MSHP badge goldFive people were hurt, including four children under the age of four, in an unusual crash in Trimble Monday night.

The crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol says there was a disturbance in progress at Port Arthur Street and Howard Road in Trimble at about 9:40 p.m. when a motorist backed his Jeep Grand Cherokee into a canopy and hit five people.

The driver, Robert Hall of Lebanon, left the scene of the crash, according to the crash report.

According to the patrol, 25-year-old Ashley Howard of Independence was seriously hurt and was transported to Mosaic Life Care for treatment.

Four youngsters, ranging in age from one to three years old, suffered minor injuries and were transported to Children’s Mercy Hospital.
