O Highway back open after head-on-crash

o highway(Update 1:43 p.m.) – Emergency crews responded to a head-on-crash Wednesday afternoon that shut down O Highway for around two hours.

The Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office issued an alert around 11:38 a.m. telling drivers to avoid O Highway at the entrance to the dump due to a traffic crash.  The highway was reopened around 1:40 p.m.

Col. Bill Puett said crews responded to a head-on crash between a city dump truck and a trash truck.  He said both drivers were believed to have been injured but the extent of their injuries is currently unknown.

Puett said the Missouri State Highway Patrol is handling the crash.  As we learn more we will update this post.
