Anna J. Grouling, 69, Atchison, Kansas died Monday, July 11, 2016 at Atchison Senior Village Nursing Center.
Mass of Christian burial will be Friday, July 15, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Benedict’s Church with Rev. Jeremy Heppler, OSB as celebrant. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. A parish rosary will be recited on Thursday, July 14th at 4:00 P.M. at Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with visitation to follow until 6:00 P.M. Memorial contributions are suggested to Achievement Services and may be left in care of the funeral home.
Anna was born January 28, 1947 in Baltimore, Maryland the daughter of Charles Thomas Grouling and Anna Frances Murk Grouling. Anna moved with her family to Atchison in 1971. She attended school at St. Katherine’s Elementary and Veneble Junior High School in Baltimore, Maryland and on her own ability chose to further her studies and graduated from Atchison High School in 2003.
She was employed in the housekeeping department of Skyway Motel in Atchison from 1971 until 1985. She then worked with Achievement Services of Atchison beginning in 1986 until her retirement.
Anna was a member of St. Benedict Parish and served as a representative on the board of Atchison Project Concern.
She is survived by a sister, Joanie (Phil) Drimmel, Lancaster, KS, a brother, Tom (Marbeth) Grouling, Des Moines, IA, two nieces, Jennifer Grouling, Muncie, IN, Laura Calovich, Tonganoxie, KS, a nephew, Casey Gilbert, Atchison, KS and five great nieces and nephews.
Janita Lucille Clark Jordan
1971-2016
HOLTON – Janita Lucille Clark Jordan, 44, of Holton, died Monday, July 11, 2016 from injuries sustained in a vehicle accident south of Holton.
She was born September 10, 1971 in Topeka, the daughter of Robert and Shelia Fink Clark. She graduated from Royal Valley High School and Kaw Valley Vocational Technical School, where she earned her LPN certification.
Janita had worked at several nursing homes and was currently employed with Manor Care in Topeka.
She was a member of the Hoyt United Methodist Church.
She married Joseph Shultz. They were divorced. She married Harold Jordan, and they were divorced.
Janita was preceded in death by her father, Robert Clark, her brother, Cameron Clark, who died April 24, 2016, and her grandparents, Karl and Ella Fink.
Survivors include her mother and step-father, Shelia and Marvin Murray, and aunts and uncles, Schrita Fink, Hoyt, Sonya Bergman, Mayetta, Mary Moore, Lawrence and William Clark, Alta Vista.
Cremation is planned. Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 14th at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hoyt. Burial will be later in the Steward Cemetery. Family and friends will meet from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Janita Clark Memorial Fund, and may be sent in care of the funeral home, P.O.
