Jury deliberations were expected to begin Thursday in the murder trial of a Cameron man accused of killing his wife.

Adam Baker is charged with second degree murder and armed criminal action in connection with the fatal shooting of his wife Holly Baker. Investigators said the pair argued in their home on February 25, 2015.

According to court documents, Baker told police he took a gun away from his wife and later shot her.

The case was transferred to Clay County on a change of venue. The trial began earlier this week in Liberty, Mo. According to online court documents, the state rested its case on Tuesday. Baker’s defense team presented evidence Wednesday and then rested its case.

Jury instructions and closing arguments were expected Thursday.
