The St. Joseph Mustangs won their second consecutive game Saturday night inside Phil Welch Stadium as they defeated Branson 11-0
St. Joe’s collegiate summer baseball team improves to 29-12 this season and 20-11 in the MINK League. The Mustangs are now just a half game back of Chillicothe and Sedalia in the North Division.
St. Joseph scored three runs in the second inning to take an early lead and then essentially put the game in the fourth with a five-run inning.
Miles Kilgore earned his fifth win of the season Saturday as he threw eight scoreless inning. Kilore struck out eight and walked just one. Steve D’Amico worked a perfect ninth inning as he had one strikeout.
Matt Wollnik led the Mustangs’ 10-hit attack as he finished 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Tyler Cox went 2-for-4 with two runs scored, while Brett Marr and Jeremiah Figueroa scored two runs each.
The Mustangs travel to Chillicothe Sunday for a big division game at 7:00 p.m. The game will be broadcast on 680 KFEQ AM.
