A St. Joseph native has been assigned as a trooper in northwest Missouri.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol announced last week that Trooper Matthew W. Neely of Cameron has been assigned to Zone 10 which covers Dekalb and Daviess counties.

Neely is a graduate of Central High School in St. Joseph and attended Missouri Western State University majoring in criminal justice.

Neely graduated with the patrol’s 102 Recruit Class in June of 2016.
