The City of St. Joseph Health Department is offering the American Heart Association Heartsaver® CPR/AED and Heartsaver® First Aid classes on July 20th. Additionally, clinic staff will be out of the office attending training to aid in response to a mass medical emergency. Therefore, the Health Department Clinic will be closed on Wednesday, July 20th from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The Heartsaver® CPR/AED is from 8:00 a.m. to noon and Heartsaver® First Aid is from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Participants can take one or both Heartsaver® courses. First aid and CPR emergencies occur regularly and this is an opportunity for anyone in our community to be introduced to skills that could help save a life. There will be skills testing for basic first aid skills and CPR and AED use, but no written exam.
The First Aid and CPR classes are open to the public and will be held in the 2nd Floor Conference Room at the City of St. Joseph Health Department at 904 South 10th Street. Pre-registration is required. Class size is limited to a maximum of eight participants. Please call 816-271-4725 and ask to be directed to either Stevie or Connie to reserve your spot.
