The St. Joseph Mustangs had their three-game winning streak snapped Monday as they lost at Joplin 7-4.
St. Joe’s collegiate summer baseball team is now 30-13 this season and 21-12 in the MINK League.
The Mustangs scored two runs in the third inning and one in the fourth to grab a 3-1 lead, but the Outlaws answered right back with four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning and never trailed again.
St. Joseph pulled to within 5-4 in the fifth inning, but Joplin scored two in the sixth to pull away.
Jason Blanchard suffered the loss for the Mustangs as he allowed five runs and four hits in 3.2 innings of work. He struck out two and walked two.
Evan McDonald led St. Joe with two hits and two RBI, while Kyle Uhrich added two hits. Davey Casciola had one RBI and Louis Mele hit his second home run of the summer.
The Mustangs are back on the road Tuesday as they play at Chillicothe. The first pitch is at 7:00 p.m.
