A firefighter in Livingston County died in the line of duty on Sunday.

Livingston County authorities responded to an RV fire along U.S. Highway 36 Sunday. Among those responding was Ed Cosgrove of the Green Township Fire Department.

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office says Cosgrove suffered a medical emergency at the scene of the crash. Sheriff Steve Cox says CPR and first aid were provided until Chillicothe Department of Emergency Services arrived to transport Cosgrove to the hospital.

Cosgrove was taken to Hedrick Medical Center where he died. Funeral services have not yet been announced.

Cosgrove was a 15 year veteran of the fire department.
