The Cash Saver in midtown St. Joseph will close its doors this weekend.

According to a news release the store located at 22nd and Frederick will be shutdown for business at 8 p.m. Saturday.

The store was purchased by Apple Market from the Kovac family last October and was renovated as a Cash Saver.  Apple Market said the Cash Saver format was intended to try and build business in that area of town by offering aggressive prices with a cost plus approach. However, the owners said the new format did not generate the improved sales needed to keep the location open.
