A water main break early Monday morning could cause some problems as students head to school at Central High School.

At about 4:30 a.m. crews from Missouri American Water, along with police and Streets Department crews, were sent to the 2700 block of Edmond.

The water main break prompted a Nixle alert to avoid the area along Edmond between 27th and 28th Street (Noyes Boulevard).

By 7:15 a.m. utility crews were shutting down the water main in hopes of repairing it with minimal disruption to school activities.
