An inmate in the Western Reception Diagnostic and Correctional Center in St. Joseph has entered a plea of guilty in Buchanan County Circuit Court to second degree murder.

The Buchanan County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office reported Thursday that Lawrence Logan entered the plea. As previously reported, the charge involved the fatal stabbing of another inmate which occurred at the WRDCC on December 9, 2015.

This charge carries a range of punishment of 10-30 years or life.

Sentencing has been scheduled for October 6, 2016, at 3 p.m. in Division No. 4.
