A three-vehicle crash on I-29 near Frederick slowed traffic on the interstate Thursday morning.

The accident was reported shortly before 8am. The initial reports placed the accident south of the interchange, but emergency crews had to turn around when they located the crash north of Frederick.

In a crash report, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said the chain reaction crash began when one vehicle hit another one stopped on the outside shoulder.

The crash report says three people were hurt. They were identified as Jeanna Curtis, 32, and Jennifer Hood, 37, both of Forrest City, and Veronica Thomas, 60, of Savannah. The patrol says all three were transported to Mosaic Life Care, although ambulance radio traffic from the scene indicated that one of them refused medical treatment.
