Charges have been filed in connection with a robbery report early Wednesday morning.

Dominick W. Hearn, 22, is due in court Friday to face a judge on one count of possession of a controlled substance.

According to Capt. Jeff Wilson of the St. Joseph Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 2900 block of Seneca at about 2:21am Wednesday. Upon arrival it was reported that a white, male subject entered the house and displayed a handgun.

Captain Wilson says one shot was fired but not injuries were reported.

Wilson says the suspect took several items from the occupants of the house, as well as one of their vehicles. He says officers recovered evidence to support the report of a shot being fired.

Investigators identified the suspect and arrested him in the 1800 block of Clay Street about four hours after the incident. The vehicle taken, as well as a firearm were seized at the time of the arrest. The subject remains in custody pending charges.

A judge set bail at $20,000. A first appearance was scheduled Friday morning before Associate Judge Rebecca Spencer.
