Charges filed in assault

A 24-year-old St. Joseph man is due in court Friday after being charged with assault in a fight that left another man seriously hurt. St. Joseph Police say Jacob Bolin was involved in an argument with the victim at around 1 a.m. September 3 in the 2200 block of North Third Street.

Investigators say the victim suffered grievous hammer injuries to the head. Police have not released the victim’s name. He is being treated at Mosaic Life Care, and was reportedly placed in a medically-induced coma.

Bail was denied. Bolin is scheduled to appear before a judge Friday morning.
