One teenager is dead and two others were injured in a crash Sunday afternoon in Worth County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says two vehicles crashed head-on along Missouri Highway 46 east of Sheridan.

Killed in the crash was 16-year-old Ronald Smith of Maryville.

Two other occupants of that vehicle, 17-year-old Matthew Peterson and 13-year-old Andrew Alarcon, both of Sheridan, were injured in the crash.   The other driver was not injured.

Alarcon’s injuries were described at the scene as minor. He was taken by private vehicle to SSM Health St. Francis in Maryville. Petersen’s injuries were described as moderate. He was flown to Mosaic Life Care for treatment.
