TULSA, Okla. (AP) — The Tulsa, Oklahoma police officer charged with killing an unarmed black motorist has turned herself in to authorities. Officer Betty Shelby was then released on $50,000 bond.

Shelby has been charged with first-degree manslaughter for shooting and killing 40-year-old Terence Crutcher. Prosecutors say Shelby “reacted unreasonably” when she shot Crutcher, who wasn’t listening to police commands and was walking away from her with his hands held up.
