An 87-year-old St. Joseph man was killed in a crash in Andrew County Saturday night.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a motorist was driving south on Route K south of I-229 at 11pm when he tried to go around a vehicle on the shoulder of the road. The Ford Escort struck and killed a pedestrian.

The crash report says the pedestrian, Charley Schrupp, 87, was in the middle of the roadway when he was hit. Schrupp was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The other driver was identified as Randy Dudley of Savannah. Mr. Dudley was not injured.
