MARYVILLE, Mo. – Missouri Western women’s golfer Shi Qing Ong shot a 3-over par 147 to win the Bearcat Fall Classic at Mozingo Golf Course in Maryville Tuesday. Ong trimmed five strokes off her first day total, ending the second round with a 71 to claim her second individual title of the season.
Missouri Western would finish third in the team race with a score of 637 and they’ve finished in the top three in two of their last three tournaments. Augustana won the team title with a 607, while Central Missouri finished second with a 626.
MWSU’s Madison Romjue finished tied for twenty-first after shooting a two round total of 162. Also cracking the top twenty-five was Tiffanie Yabut with a score of 163. Jenna Kosmatka knocked in a 165, as Brittany Kennedy carded a 217 for the Griffons.
The Bearcat Classic wraps up the fall season for Missouri Western as it now turns its focus on the spring championship season.
