The St. Joseph Salvation Army is asking for clothing donations and coats as temperatures start to fall.

The “Stuff the Truck” coat drive will be held Friday, Oct. 14 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 15 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the HyVee Shopping Center on the Belt Highway.

The Salvation Army plans to give away coats to those in need during its annual coat distribution Nov. 5.

Volunteers can drop off their gently used coats and clothing at the stuff the truck clothing drive. Major Abe Tamayo with the Salvation Army said the agency helps individuals and families in need with clothing and household items at no cost to those who qualify.
