The second batch of the nearly two dozen defendants arrested in a recent Drug Strike Force sweep appeared in court Tuesday. Associate Judge Keith Marquart heard from ten defendants arrested nearly two weeks ago. They are accused of possessing or distributing heroin, prescription pills or methamphetamine. Last week nine suspects arrested in the roundup appeared before Associate Judge Rebecca Spencer.

Some appeared in person, having already posted bail. But the judge advised most of them via video conferencing from the Buchanan County Jail. One suspect, Jonathan Campbell, waived both formal arraignment and his preliminary hearing, and is scheduled to appear in Circuit Court Novemer 3. The rest were scheduled for case reviews and preliminary hearings in the next few weeks.
