A bond-reduction hearing is scheduled next week for a St. Joe man charged with molesting a six-year-old child.

Gary Robinson, 55, is being held in the Buchanan County Jail on one count of 1st degree child molestation for an incident at his home in June. Bail was set at $25,000 cash.

During his first court appearance Friday, Associate Judge Rebecca Spencer scheduled a bond-reduction hearing November 3.

According to court documents, Robinson is accused of making sexual contact with the youngster while at his home. A detective with the St. Joseph Police Department says Robinson was on top of the six year old at the time of the occurrence.

The court affidavit asserts that Robinson has a lengthy criminal history, with past convictions of burglary, stealing, unlawful use of a weapon, and flight/escape.
