Chance of thunderstorms later today

weather-11-2A cold front and upper disturbance will bring the chance for thunderstorms this afternoon and early evening. A few storms may become strong, although widespread severe weather is unlikely. Here’s the 7-day forecast from the National Weather Service:

Today: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 73. South wind 5 to 7 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Tonight: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 2 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 50. North wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 69. North wind around 6 mph.

Thursday Night: Clear, with a low around 44. North wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 70. Calm wind becoming southwest around 6 mph in the afternoon.

Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 48.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 69.

Saturday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 49.

Sunday: Partly sunny, with a high near 68.

Sunday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 51.

Monday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 65.

Monday Night: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 50. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Tuesday: A chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 66. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
