Missouri State makes school record 15 three-pointers in win over Jacksonville State

riggertMSUSPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) — Alize Johnson had 20 points and 10 rebounds, Dequon Miller also scored 20 points, and Missouri State set a school record with 15 3-pointers in a 91-65 victory over Jacksonville State on Sunday.

Johnson, a junior-college transfer, was coming off a 16-point performance in Friday’s victory over Alabama A&M while Miller, a senior who averaged double figures last season, bounced back from a 0-for-6 shooting night in which he scored one point.

The Bears (2-0), who had 12 3-pointers against Alabama A&M, were 15 of 31 from the arc versus the Gamecocks (1-1), with Miller and Austin Ruder hitting four each. Ruder finished with 12 points, Jarred Dixon 19 and Obediah Church 10.

Norbertas Giga scored 16 points and Christian Cunningham 13 for the Gamecocks, who shot 55 percent, but gave up 30 points off 24 turnovers.

Missouri State took the lead from the outset and led 45-20 at halftime.
